Archives
Mission and Scope
Oklahoma State University Archives is dedicated to preserving and providing access to records that document university, local and state history. The University Archives is the depository for many academic and administrative documents, official records and other materials related to the management, operations and mission of OSU.
The University Archives’ collection development policy is grounded on the following areas of concentration:
- Agricultural and Renewable Resources
- Business and Entrepreneurship
- Military Service
- Native American Artists and Authors
- Public Service
- Women’s Archives
Policies
Research materials are placed in select repositories in order to preserve them for future use while making them available for present research. The materials require special storage, handling and security. It is the researcher's responsibility to conform to all legal provisions such as literary rights and copyrights affecting the use of those materials.
Governing Use
Per patron's request, patrons may use material from the collections. Photo identification will be required prior to viewing those materials in the Paul Miller Room. Patrons will be permitted to use pencils only when working with material and will be required to maintain the original order of unbound material.
